Northern lights in Lofoten — places and forecast

Aurora season is September to March, when the nights are dark enough. In summer the midnight sun takes over, and chasing the lights is not realistic then. Hunters watch the cloud first, then a dark stop away from harbour and village lights. Hamnøy, Gimsøy, Reine and Haukland are places people actually wait. A hole in the cloud beats the Kp number.
